Are the caregivers directly employed by the home care agency? 

Yes, all caregivers are PCA employees. As such, they are covered by PCA's workers compensation and liability insurance policies. In addition, PCA is responsible for all tax withholding and employer contributions for federal and state unemployment insurance.

How does the caregiver know what to do when they arrive in the home?

After meeting with the client and family, PCA creates a caregiving plan, specific to the client’s needs. This is reviewed with the caregiver prior to assignment

Is PCA supervised by an outside entity?

Yes. We are licensed by the state of MA and comply with the local board of health in the towns we operate

How does the home care agency select and train caregivers?

PCA requires that all caregivers have at least 1 year’s relevant experience. We perform a criminal background check, personal interview, reference check, training and orientation prior to assigning them

Are there a minimum number of hours that you must order?

No minimum required

How does PCA supervise their caregivers?

We require our caregivers to take notes that are reviewed by a supervisor. In addition, the supervisor visits the site and interviews the client regularly for feedback.
